SIR TOM FINNEY, ENGLAND Preston North End 1947-59
Knighted
for his soccer prowess, Sir Tom Finney is one of England's
all-time greats. Average in build but deceptively agile, strong,
and powerful, his ambidextrous footwork made him a continuous
threat at center-forward. Although his club years went unnoticed,
his true talents shone on the national team. The "Preston
Plumber" once held a record of 30 goals in 76 caps. He was
know as a true gentleman of the game.
