DUNCAN EDWARDS, ENGLAND Manchester United 1955-58
His life
cut tragically short by the 1958 Munich air disaster that
also killed seven other Manchester United players, Duncan
Edwards' brief career showed more than promise. In three brief
seasons, the "babe" of Busby's Babes scored 5 goals in 18
appearances. Known for his powerful leg, his first goal in
international play dramatically lifted England over West Germany
in 1956.
