In
an emotional exhibition game played in Los Angeles, Brazil's
Romario De Souza and Mexico's Jorge Campos officially retired
from international competition, and sent the crowd off with
many memories of their great play.
Romario
was joined by his teammates from the 1994 World Cup championship,
while Campos lead his 1994 Mexican World Cup team. Romario
scored both goals for Brazil, showing his mastery of the game.
Brazil
featured legendary stars Taffarel, Jorginho, Mauro da Silva,
Ricardo Rocha, Branco, Zinho, Aldair, Dunga, Bebeto, Romario,
and Marcio Santos. Carlos Alberto Parreira coached the team
as he did in 1994.
Campos
was joined on the Mexican team by Raul Gutierrez, Ramirez
Perales, Jose Luis Salgado, Ignacio Ambriz, Ramon Ramirez,
Marcelino Bernal, Alberto Garcia Aspe, Joaquin del Olmo, Luis
Hernandez and Luis Garcia. Miguel Mejia Baron coached team
Mexico as he also did in 1994. Luis Roverto Alves scored for
the Aztecs.
